AP/CP Board Certified Pathologist
Pueblo Pathology Group is seeking an AP/CP board-certified pathologist with strong general surgical pathology skills to join our hospital-based, physician-owned pathology group. Our group has partnered with Parkview Medical Center (300-bed hospital) for over 50 years, providing pathology services and laboratory medical directorship. In 2023, Parkview Medical Center joined the UCHealth hospital system, which has increased practice stability and opportunities for collaboration.
Responsibilities include diagnosing a broad range of surgical pathology and non-gyn cytology cases, frozen sections/rapid evaluations, clinical pathology services, rotating call, and rotating tumor board presentation.
Pueblo is a diverse and growing community of around 150,000 people with easy access to a variety of mountain and water activities, as well as urban amenities (40 miles from Colorado Springs and 100 miles from Denver).
Practice Details:
Full-service histology laboratory, including pathology assistant
~12,000 surgical cases/yr
~1450 non-gyn cytology cases/yr
2-4 frozen section/rapid evaluation cases/day
<10 non-forensic autopsies/yr
Daily sharing of challenging cases with colleagues
40 to 50-hour work week
Requirements:
MD, DO, or equivalent
Board-certified or eligible in AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology
Hold or eligible to obtain unrestricted medical licensure in Colorado
Ability to diagnose a broad range of surgical pathology and non-gyn cytology cases
Ability to fulfill clinical laboratory medical directorship duties
A commitment to working effectively with medical staff members, laboratory personnel, and hospital administration to provide best patient care
Incentive/Benefits Package:
Up to $300,000 starting salary
