Position Summary
The Medical Director, Parkview provides delegated physician leadership for assigned specialty practices within the South region of the UCHealth Medical Group. Reporting to the Senior Medical Director of the South Region, the Medical Director partners with operational leaders, Medical Practice Leaders (MPLs), APP leaders, and clinical teams to advance quality, patient safety, access, patient experience, clinician engagement, and operational performance across assigned departments. The role serves as an extension of the Senior Medical Director to support regional priorities, strengthen local leadership capability, facilitate communication, and promote consistency across specialty practices. Partner collaboratively with Memorial Hospital CMO, Administrative leadership team.

Works closely with: Parkview CMO, VP Operations, UCHMG South, administrative leaders; MPLs; APP leaders; clinical directors; regional quality, safety, access, and patient experience leaders

Assigned Scope of Responsibility
The Medical Director provides physician leadership oversight and support for all UCHealth Medical Group medical offices and associated physicians, advanced practice providers, allied health professionals, and contracted clinicians within the Parkview catchment area. The assigned scope includes:

The assigned scope includes all current and future physicians, advanced practice providers, allied health professionals, and contracted clinicians practicing through these medical offices. The practice and provider roster will be maintained in alignment with the current UCHealth Medical Group Parkview practice listing and may be updated as organizational needs, affiliations, and services change within the Parkview catchment area.
Primary Responsibilities
Medical Practice Leader Development
- Mentor, coach, and support Medical Practice Leaders within assigned specialties.
- Assist MPLs in developing leadership capabilities, communication skills, change management competencies, and succession planning.
- Support development of local action plans to address departmental opportunities and performance gaps.
- Review and discuss data with local MPLs related to items including but not limited to in-basket performance, patient experience/ ”provider listened” scores, QVIP performance, supply/demand, access, productivity, and network integrity.
- Promote consistency in leadership practices across assigned departments.
Quality, Safety, and Compliance
- Support achievement of regional and system quality goals.
- Promote a culture of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with operational and clinical leaders to identify and address quality, safety, and compliance concerns.
- Support implementation of system-wide clinical initiatives and evidence-based practices.
Physician and APP Engagement
- Support clinician recruitment, onboarding, engagement, retention, and professional development efforts.
- Facilitate communication between clinicians, MPLs, operations leaders, and medical group leadership.
- Identify emerging clinician concerns and assist in developing solutions.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and respect.
Operational and Strategic Leadership
- Partner with operational leaders to improve access, patient flow, productivity, and patient experience.
- Support implementation of organizational strategic initiatives.
- Assist with physician alignment, practice integration, and change management efforts.
- Facilitate resolution of operational and clinical issues requiring regional leadership involvement.
- Participate in strategic planning for specialty services growth and development as needed.
Communication and Alignment
- Establish and maintain effective bi-directional communication across assigned departments.
- Ensure consistent dissemination of information from Medical Group leadership.
- Escalate significant issues, risks, and opportunities to the Medical Director of Metro Specialties.
- Serve as a liaison between local MPLs and regional leadership teams.
Dyad Leadership
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with operational partners.
- Collaboratively lead assigned specialty areas through a physician-administrator dyad model.
- Support coordinated decision-making and accountability across clinical and operational domains.
Performance Expectations
The Medical Director will contribute to measurable improvement in the following domains. Annual goals and performance indicators will be established in collaboration with the Medical Director of Metro Specialties and other Medical Group leaders.
